Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse 2012

I've said it before and I'll say it again: this is an awesome race; you either love, or hate it.  I was hating it a bit at times this past weekend though, but all in all, I came home loving it. 

Chappies Toll Plaza - the other side of the story

Recently there has been an uproar in the papers and social media about a massive Toll Plaza to be built on Chapman's Peak.  I blindly accepted what the papers and everyone was saying, but didn't stop to look at what exactly was being built and why.

Tokai Manor Precinct - Open for comments

SANParks have been working on a plan to upgrade the Tokai Manor House precinct, and at last make proper use of the buildings in that area.  This week they had an open day to share the proposals with the public and ask for feedback.

Cycling in Cape Town: “Share the Road”

This media release was issued by the City of Cape Town this week, which I thought should be shared, for what it's worth.  There's a number at the bottom to report unsafe activity on the cycle lanes, wonder what other unsafe cycling activities we can report... Will follow up...

Mike struggled this year, to find something other than socks and bum cream to give me for Xmas.  So he did something different: an entry for the Garden Route 300.  Now that I'll unwrap, thanks! :)

Karoo 2 Coast - Backwards

For the past couple of years, a small group of us have cycled from Knysna up to Uniondale as a 'warm up' for Karoo 2 Coast.  We figure that if you're gonig to make the pilgrimage all the way from Cape Town to Knysna, you may as well make the most of the weekend and do a bit more than a downhill ride.

Ultra vs Marathon.  110km vs 75km.  If there's a long route option, why on earth would you do the shorter?
