Tru-Cape MTB Funride 2011
Brutal.
55km, in two loops (not laps), that brings you through the start/finsh area just after the halfway mark.
The first loop takes you South of the Country Club through all the singletrack, not much climbing, lots of sand, lots of rocks. The second loop heads Northwards in the direction of Nuweberg. It's all climbing. When you think you're at the top and going to head back down, you come around a corner and head back up.
Some short stretches of singletrack get you back home.
If you enjoy very rocky singletrack this is for you! If not, pack a serious spare sense of humour, you'll need it. (I know, I needed it...) Some kid got a bit of a surprise trying to pass me, when I scolded him, telling him he could get past only if he asked politely.
Peregrine's pies and Origin coffee brought the colour back to my blue lips and my mood-o-meter back to green.
