Trail Running with Celtics
A few years back I joined the Celtic Harriers Running Club, with the intention of doing Two Oceans Full, and other marathons which encourage club membership. I ended up wearing their colours for a few half marathons and one Double Century. But even after my membership expired, I've remained on their mailing list...
And I still consider Celtics to be "my" running club, if ever I were to join one again - and probably will. Leading up to the Table Mountain Challenge I was starting to get a bit frustrated with the guys I was running with. They are all that much stronger than me, that I often found myself running alone, with them slightly visible (and audible) up the trail ahead of me.
So I was very excited when I saw in one of the Celtics communications that they were starting their weekly trail runs: every Thursday at 5:45, to run for 1hour. Meeting points vary between Newlands Forest, Constantia Nek and Kloof Nek each week. The first run of the season had almost 70 participants!!
All split up into 4 groups so you can run at a pace that suits you. And it's social, too, which is definitely helping me get out of my hermit mood :)
